Universe & characters
Characters make the place a story
UMBRALIS is not only a location. It has a cast, a tone and internal rules that keep every new character, product or event consistent with the rest.
Lore is intentionally light — it must never block production
Lore rules
How much story is the right amount
Enough lore to make things feel connected. Never so much that people need a wiki to enjoy a night out.
Canon
- UMBRALIS is a night resort in a tropical futuristic setting
- It exists in both worlds: digital and physical
- The community is part of the fiction, not an audience of it
- Nightlife, warmth and belonging — the tone never turns dark or explicit
Not canon
- Heavy conflict-driven plots
- Anything that requires reading to participate
- Characters that break the visual identity
- Sub-stories owned by a single area only
Cast
Character roles
The faces of the resort. They welcome, guide and set the tone.
Dancers and show acts that own the stage during event nights.
Bar, security, technicians — the people who keep the resort running.
Recurring characters from the community who belong to the place.
Visiting characters, collaborations and one-night appearances.
Unexplained figures used for reveals and seasonal arcs. TBD.
Fursonas
Design language for characters
Characters are designed so they work as an avatar, as a fursuit and as printed art at the same time.

Shared traits

NoteNew characters are approved by the same question as everything else: does this look like it belongs to the UMBRALIS universe?
